MERU Virtual School – Tomorrow’s Education Today

From time to time, a few unanticipated happenings cause turbulences in the society, disrupt day-to-day life and propel people to reevaluate and rearrange lifestyles. These unexpected events force widespread experimentation around a new idea and keep the life going.

Right now, the unforeseen repercussions due to the outbreak of COVID-19 have led schools to close and experiment with remote teaching. This attempt of schools enables them to sustain education in these difficult times and ensure the safety of students and teachers.

Safeguarding children from harm’s way and ensuring their future remains intact is of utmost priority for schools; for both to happen, education must be digitised, diversified, accessible and exclusive. The academics must actually go beyond the four walls of the classroom.

To supplement the conventional classroom teaching, Meru International School effectively figured out a way to utilise the digital technology at its disposal to sustain academics and keep children occupied and active in this concerning period.

Meru International, through the Virtual school platform, delivers the academics to students while maintaining the importance of the face-to-face (F2F) classroom teaching method. This also keeps the students energised and educated during this crisis. In Virtual teaching methods, lectures that require little personalisation or human interaction get digitised as multimedia presentations, to be watched by students at their own pace and place. In addition, online classes taught by teachers bridge the gap between traditional classroom teaching and learning.

MERU Virtual School

MERU Virtual School is a digital platform that offers interactive learning resources to liberate learners and empower teachers. The learning platform in collaboration with FLINNT provides teachers as well as learners a unique opportunity to learn, albeit virtually.

The curriculum and the content on the virtual platform have more depth than the regular classroom content. Children get to experience the same concepts in multiple ways and from multiple sources. We believe that this is a unique way to expand the horizons of the children.   Teachers have created their own digital channels to generate content and share the learning with Children to ensure that the MERU way of learning is not lost. Having said that, the teachers rose to the occasion and have truly contributed to the school’s vision of being a 21st century school. All the teachers at MERU are technologically sound to deliver classes to students using video conferencing. Gone are the days when the timetable was created only for physical classrooms. Now, our teachers create timetables for digital classrooms and schedule classes- section-wise to teach children online.

Zoom classes with uninterrupted video calling between teachers and students help one another to stay connected in these crucial times and build bonds for a lifetime. We are one of those few schools in the country to have achieved this feat in a record span of 3 days and we are immensely proud of our endeavour.

Learning programs on the virtual platform are personalised to the students’ style and speed. Moreover, to zest up the learning- the teachers have curated content from various sources and shared the content with the students to increase the domain and the emotional intellect of the Children. MERU Virtual School is a s’cool’ away from the School. Subject wise digital book material provided on the platform consists of online videos, quizzes, MCQ, test series, worksheets, notes, online links & images.
